The Swiss Mode

The end of the 2016 season marks the end of an era in Slowpitch Softball in Switzerland. Since the Swiss Slowptich Softball league existed, the day tournaments were manly for fun purposes. In some years a Swiss Champion was crowned based on a point system (points were given to the participants of the day tournaments). This system is now history.

The team managers decided in their winter meeting, to divide the Swiss Slowpitch Softball League into two divisions. The A-Division will play for the National Championship and the B-Division will keep playing for fun.

A-Divison

In the 2017 season the Toros, Frogs, Orcas, TruckStar and the Beasts will play each other in five day tournaments. The Swiss Champion will be crowned solely on the W/L-Average.

B-Division

All A-Division teams will also enter a B-Team into the B-Divison. Next to them the Indians, Flyers, Unicorns and Devils will also play in the B-Division.

International

Since 2015 the Beasts have been going to one international tournament a year. After a victory in Ingolstadt in 2015, the Beasts entered the Buttermaker Cup in Freising (Munich) in 2016 and ended up in 5th place (out of 14). The Beasts will again go to Freising in 2017 to compete for the title.
